Packer Shoes x Ewing 33 Hi “Aloysius x Teyana Taylor””Fame & War Pack”
A pinnacle NYC sport icon, Patrick Aloysius Ewing Sr. was renowned for his fierce competitiveness, swift agility and devoted camaraderie during his 15-year tenure as the starting center of the New York Knicks. After being traded to the Seattle Supersonics before the start of the 2000-2001 season, it’s been said time and again that Patrick’s departure left a void in both the team and city that hasn’t been filled since.
In celebration of Patrick Ewing’s unparalleled contribution to what some have dubbed the “golden era” of New York City, New Jersey retailer Packer Shoes have decided to produce two unique renderings of the Ewing 33 Hi revolving around the star player’s middle name Aloysius, meaning “fame in war.” The black/”OG” edition of the “Aloysius” 33 High – created in collaboration with rap magnate Fabolous – dons an “Ewing Defence Regiment” crest logo on the tongue, with gold accents adorning the redesigned satin inner lining and finished with a metal plated ankle strap buckle, and “NYC” & “33” ankle plates which represent Patrick’s retired NY Knicks number 33. A gold/black colorway enlists the talents of singer Teyana Taylor, and sports an “Ewing Empire” logo on the tongue and “Empire State” sublimated insoles. In addition, each pair is packaged in a custom-made hi-res sublimation of the foyer of the Empire State Building and includes a signature charm.
